Congratulations to our team of students and staff who participated in this year’s HARP24 Running Festival

We congratulate our team of students and staff who participated in this year’s HARP24 Running Festival on 6 and 7 July to raise money for Southend’s homeless charity, HARP. This year marks the School’s second consecutive participation in this demanding 24-hour relay race.

Now in its 11th Year, HARP 24 is Essex’s 24-hour running festival in which both solo runners and teams compete from midday on Saturday through to midday on Sunday, running as many laps of a 5-mile route as possible. The winner in each category completes the most miles within the 24-hour period. WHSB ran over 250 miles as a team, finishing 2nd (and 3rd) in the Mixed 9-12 Team category, with notable performances from Freddie (Lower Sixth) and Mr Gutierrez, both running 20 miles each over the weekend.

HARP is one of the School’s two chosen charities this year and, if you would like to help our WHSB runners’ impressive fundraising efforts to assist HARP in continuing to provide care for people experiencing homelessness, please visit their fundraising page using the following link: https://homelessactionresource.enthuse.com/pf/whsb

With our thanks to Mr Dean for coordinating the arrangements, and to our students and staff participants for their contribution towards supporting those facing homelessness within our local community.
