RAF cadets travelled to 615 Volunteer Gliding Squadron at RAF Kenley

As part of our programme of opportunities for our RAF cadets, four cadets travelled to 615 Volunteer Gliding Squadron at RAF Kenley near Caterham in Surrey last term. All the cadets experienced two cable launches and were able to take control of the aircraft, despite the weather being a bit too calm and overcast (some instability and air movement increases the chances of finding an upcurrent, to gain more height).

Cadets Connor, Ethan, Rahul, and Ethan took an important step towards their Blue Gliding Wings. Together with some consolidation on our new synthetic trainers (flight simulators), the cadets can begin to move towards the next stage of their pilot training.

With our thanks to Mr North and Mr Hudson for coordinating this fantastic opportunity for our students.
