British Biology Olympiad - Upper and Lower Sixth

The Spring Term saw Biologists from the Upper and Lower Sixth at WHSB compete in the British Biology Olympiad, an advanced problem-solving competition for A Level students. We are proud of all our students who entered this highly challenging competition which attracts the most able Biologists from across UK schools.

Congratulations to our students who achieved four Gold Awards, two Silver and five Bronze Awards; a particularly impressive achievement considering that only the top 5% of all entries are graded Gold, 10% Silver and 15% Bronze.

Of our four Gold Award winning students (Freddie, Sadman, Toby and George), George's achievement is of particular note, as he is in the Lower Sixth and has not yet covered the entire A-Level syllabus. We are delighted that all WHSB’s Gold award winners have been invited to compete in the next round - a preliminary competition for the UK National Team selection for the international competition in Kazakhstan this July. Well done to all those who entered, and we wish our Gold award winners every success in the next round.

We are grateful to Mr Marriott for facilitating this stage of the competition and for arranging such a fantastic opportunity for our students.
