Enrichment Trip to Nuclear Races

ENRICHMENT TRIP TO NUCLEAR RACES

Students in Year 11 and the Upper Sixth had an exciting (and very muddy!) time during Enrichment Day last Friday, as they had the opportunity to experience Mathematics in Real Life during their trip to the Nuclear Races site in Kelvedon Hatch.

The Nuclear Races Activity Centre has been awarded the quality badge by the Council for Learning Outside the Classroom, and our students enjoyed developing their confidence and teamworking skills through this memorable visit.

The students began the day with a Mathematics Lecture to set the scene, exploring how different variables are involved when calculating “How Far Will I Fly from the Death Slide?”. They then had the chance to experience this in person, along with many other activities at the Nuclear Races Site.
