GCHQ's National Language Competition
Well done to our Year 9 pupils who took part in GCHQ's National Language Competition, which involved code-breaking. The pupils performed exceptionally well, having put an enormous amount of effort into their work.
More than 1,500 teams from over 500 schools across the UK took part, and our three teams placed 5th, 14th and 21st, all in the top 1.5% of UK teams.
In this competition, teams from schools around the UK competed against each other to solve language-based puzzles and score points. Through this opportunity, GCHQ aims to inspire language learning by encouraging pupils to discover their aptitude for learning languages.
Our pupils very much enjoyed the week-long competition, and we would like to thank Mrs Genthe and her colleagues for supporting the pupils in preparing for and entering this competition; it was an enriching experience for all involved.
