Year 10 Geology students from WHSB travelled to the Jurassic Coast in Dorset

In March, as part of their GCSE course, twenty-three Year 10 Geology students from WHSB travelled to the Jurassic Coast in Dorset for a week-long field trip, visiting famous locations such as Lulworth Cove, Durdle Door, and Kimmeridge Bay.

With its stunning scenery, breathtaking views, and iconic coastal features, much of the Dorset coastline has UNESCO World Heritage status and affords a wide range of topics for investigation including minerals, rocks, and fossils, as well as larger-scale studies related to plate tectonics and the geological history of the area.

We are grateful to Mr Marlow, Head of Geology, for facilitating the visit, and Mr Parkinson for also supporting the students on this wonderful trip. Their commitment and planning has provided our students with an educational and memorable experience.
