Year 8 pupil Luca, delivers sacks full of gifts for patients at Great Ormond Street Hospital
This week, Year 8 pupil Luca, along with members of his family, delivered sacks full of gifts for patients at Great Ormond Street Hospital in London, thanks to the generosity of our School community and his own determination to do something for the benefit of others less fortunate than himself.
Earlier this term, Luca had the idea of coordinating a school-wide collection for the internationally renowned children’s hospital to help put smiles on the faces of children facing the festive season in hospital. Liaising with his Form Tutor, Mr Norman, and staff at GOSH, an incredible £400 was collected in donations, and over 50 Christmas gifts from pupils and their families throughout the School.
We are proud of Luca for showing compassion, and for facilitating such a wonderful contribution from WHSB to our wider community at this time of year. We would like to thank all those families who kindly donated gifts.
